Cavelle Johnston


Cavelle Johnston joined the firm in 2010 and was promoted to the position of Partner in 2014. She is a graduate of the Washington and Lee School of Law in Lexington Virginia where she earned a Juris Doctor Degree. She was admitted to practice at the Connecticut Bar in 2006 and the District of Columbia Bar in 2007. In 2008, she was certified to practice in Jamaica by the Norman Manley Law School and was called to the Jamaican Bar that year. Ms. Johnston is lead counsel in the firm’s civil department and practices in the areas of administrative law, family law, intellectual property law, commercial and corporate law, conflict of laws, industrial disputes and personal injury matters. She is currently pursuing an LL.M in International Commercial Law at the University of Salford, England.

Ms. Johnston is the holder of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications and Sociology from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia and is experienced in the field of Journalism. She served as an Editor of License! Magazine in New York where she was published widely. Ms. Johnston has served as Chairman of the Membership Committee of the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston, and a Member Official of the Appeals Committee at the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Women’s Caribbean Cup in Trinidad & Tobago (2014). Ms. Johnston is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Community of the District of Columbia Bar. She is an active Sunday School Teacher at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church.
