Mr. Jared M.X. Tennant is the holder of a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) degree from the University of the West Indies and earned his Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School in 2017. He is also the holder of a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree in French and History. During the tenure of his academic pursuits, he was the recipient of several awards including the Dean’s Award for Excellence, the Gladwynn Turbutt Prize, the Principal’s Scholarship for Excellence, the AFUWI Link-Up Media Group Scholarship and the Frank L. Myers Scholarship for Law.
His legal practice is wide and encompassing, focusing on both criminal and general civil law areas including lottery scamming, illegal possession of firearm, assault, drug possession, sexual offences, financial crimes, debt collection, matrimonial proceedings, recovery of possession, contractual disputes, real estate matters, personal injury, adoption applications and employment disputes. He also has a passion for corporate and commercial legal matters.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the Legal Department of one of Jamaica’s leading insurance company, gaining valuable experience and knowledge relating to insurance contracts, claims disputes and personal injury settlement. Mr. Tennant is a member of the Jamaican Bar Association and is currently assigned to the Montego Bay branch of our firm, where he is responsible for serving clients in the Western region of Jamaica (Westmoreland, Trelawny, St. Ann, Hanover and St. James). In his personal life, he enjoys ‘lyming’ with friends, visiting new places and reading.
