Simone Gooden is a new addition to the firm’s Portland Division since October 2018 and has since been appointed an Associate in January 2019. She was called to the Jamaican bar in 2018 after attaining a Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School.
Simone practice areas include Civil Litigation, Criminal Law, Personal Injury, Family Law, Probate and Estate Planning. While pursuing her Undergraduate Degree at UWI, Mona Campus, Simone balanced her legal studies with student leadership activities which included her role as Secretary and Treasurer for her Block on ABC Hall.
After graduating from UWI, Simone enrolled at Norman Manley Law School in 2016. While at Norman Manley Law School, Simone interned at the Clarendon Parish Court as Judicial Clerk, and in her second year volunteered at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. During this period Simone was actively involved in the Constitution Committee at the Norman Manley Law School and maintained her involvement with student activities by being part of planning and execution committees for events hosted by the Students’ Association. Simone enjoys music, movies, reading, learning new cultures, languages, cuisine and travelling.
